Terms and Conditions
The following are Terms and Conditions of Ambassador Car Hire.
TERMS OF PAYMENT/DEPOSIT:
A minimum deposit of between U$D 200.00 and U$D 1,000.00 is required prior to collection of a vehicle. A valid credit card may be used in lieu of cash. A Local Purchase Order (LPO) is only accepted with prior arrangement. This can be waivered only by management discretion. Visa and MasterCard credit cards accepted only however a 5% Bank charge is applied to all card transactions
Our friendly and experienced chauffeurs are available at USD 10.00 per day. Should they spend the night away or work later than 18:00hrs, they will be entitled to an allowance of USD 20.00 towards meals, travel and accommodation. The allowance is subject to change in accordance with the areas our chauffeur may be lodging as well as market forces. Overtime, a labour law directive, is applicable to all hours worked outside normal working hours. This is charged at USD 1.00 per hour.
We reserve the right to engage a debt collector on all late payments. All costs, interests, fees and charges incurred are chargeable to the hirer.
Vehicles are provided to you with a tank full of fuel. They must be returned the same way. Fuel consumed along the course of the hire is for the client’s account and does not form a part of the rental agreement.
3rd Party insurance cover is included free in the rental. All damages caused by driver fault/road conditions, animals, plants and the like are chargeable in full recovery and repairs. Tyre and windscreen damage is not included in the insurance – the hirer will be charged for new tires/windscreen if damaged
Minimum age of driving on all classes of vehicles is 25. Maximum age of driving on all classes of vehicles is 65. This can be waivered by the discretion of management.
A valid unendorsed license MUST be produced at the time of rental. Foreign driving licenses are accepted. Licenses must be held for a minimum of 5 years.
Damage To Vehicle
Upon receiving your vehicle, please ensure you check the vehicle thoroughly. Any damages noticed should be recorded and signed for immediately on the check list provided. Damage caused by driver negligence and/or road conditions are chargeable in full both for recovery and repair. Damage caused by plants, trees, animals, wildlife etc are also not covered and will be considered negligent driving. Tyre damage is also not included and will be charged accordingly. It is a legal requirement that ALL accidents are reported to the local police immediately and a police report obtained. Insurance will not entertain any claims without a police report.
Rental includes breakdown cover. The hirer must contact the phone numbers indicated on rental agreement forms in the unlikely event of any breakdown. Recovery time will vary according to location and time. A recovery charge will be affected if the breakdown of the vehicle has been caused by driver negligence.
Policy On Off-road
Driving All our vehicles are to be operated on regularly maintained tarmac roads. In the event that vehicles have the need to go off-road, the driver is expected to be cautious and sensible. Any damages incurred whilst off-road is chargeable in full.
The hirer is responsible for all traffic offense and/or fines or for any associated administration costs regarding any accidents and/or claims.
Should you need the vehicle delivered or collected from a location other than our offices, this will need to be arranged in advance. Please note this may sometimes involve an extra charge. Airport delivery/collection, please ensure you have provided us with full flight arrival/departure details. Our representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals area unless a pre-arranged meeting point has been agreed upon.
If a vehicle is returned less than 3 hours late, no charge is added. If a vehicle is returned over 3 hours late, this will result in a charge of a full day’s rental.
Extension Of Hire
This can be done by contacting the hiring office on the numbers provided. This will affect the cost of the rental.
Monday – Friday: 07:30-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 Saturday: 08:00-12:00 Sundays & Public Holidays: CLOSED Any bookings outside normal working hours are to be arranged in advance wherever available.
This is arranged on request. All necessary paperwork is arranged by us in advance at the cost of US $50.00 which must be paid in cash on collection of the vehicle. Copies of the driver’s passport and driving license must be sent to us a MINIMUM of 72 working hrs in advance.
All vehicles are provided CLEAN and spotless. They are to be returned the same way. The hirer will be charged for any vehicles returned soiled. The minimum charge for a valet is US $70.00
We have a wide range of equipment available on request. All equipment is subject to availability. This includes: baby seats, tents, shovels, pots, pans, roof racks, light weight trailer, etc. Please ask us for a list of equipment and prices and we will be happy to oblige.
